The FTSE4Good Global Index has been designed by FTSE, which is an independent company jointly owned by The Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange. Companies on the FTSE4Good Global Index have met stringent social and environmental criteria, and are positioned to capitalize on the benefits of responsible business practices. Forum Ethibel, which maintains Ethibel Excellence Investment Registers, is an independent consultancy agency for socially responsible investments that advises banks and brokers offering ethical savings accounts and investment funds. Ethibel Excellence Investment Registers is a universe for the investment composed by highly scored companies from a social responsiblility perspective. This universe is continuously updated and monitored. NEC corporation has been on the Ethibel Excellence lnvestment Registers every year since 2009. (October 2011)

The Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index was created jointly by Morningstar Japan K.K. and the Center for Public Resources Development, a non-profit organization. Companies are reviewed based on a thorough analysis of their performance on governance/accountability, market (consumers/customers, suppliers), employment, social contribution, and the environment. NEC Corporation has been on the Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index each year since 2003. (September 2011)

Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index
NEC Corporation was named "Gold Class" CSR rating for its "computer and office equipment"
from Switzerland's Sustainable Asset Management (SAM). This is the first time NEC has received "Gold Class" recognition,
following the company‘s "Silver Class" selection in 2010.
SAM evaluates approximately 2,500 companies every year based on the sustainability of each company's economic, "environmental"
and "social" performance. Companies whose CSR activities are evaluated within the top 15% are awarded with "Gold Class,"
"Silver Class" and "Bronze Class" recognition. (February 2011)

NEC Corporation was listed in "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World"
for the first time in 2011.
The "Global 100" was established in 2005 by the Corporate Knights Inc. of Canada in recognition of global
corporations that perform well in terms of environmental, social and governance issues. (January 2011)
NEC is honored to announce that it has been chosen "East Asia 30" at ASIA Future Forum 2010.
The first forum aimed at raising the importance of Asia in the creation of balanced global prosperity and sustainability
was held by Hankyoreh Media Group under the support from the Presidential Council for Future & Vision and other entities in South Korea .
"East Asia 30" including leading socially responsible 20 companies in Japan, five in China and five in South Korea was
announced during the forum. NEC is one of the prestigious 30 companies. (November 2010)
