Environmental Training and Awareness

NEC believes that all of its employees should conduct their work with high environmental awareness so as to implement environmental management. Various education and awareness programs which form the basis for this environmental management have been made available.

NEC has been carrying out environmental training programs for general staff, new employees, and key environment management players.

NEC has developed different environmental training programs that are customized for specific jobs. For example, different training programs are provided for hardware technicians and software technicians, etc.

NEC carried out continuous environmental training and environmental awareness activities with a goal of "having all employees in the Eco-Excellence class by 2010".

By designating June and November as yearly "Environmental Months," NEC is implementing measures to improve environmental management awareness among NEC Group employees.

The NEC group participates in the Challenge 25% Campaign, a government-promoted activity to combat global warming.

NEC awards excellent results from environmental activities in order to promote and promulgate environmental management.

An Ecology at the Cash Register Campaign aimed at reducing the number of shopping bags handed out at the cash register was conducted at stores within NEC.
