On April 1, 2001 the Law to Promote the Efficient Usage of Resources was enacted. Under this law, computer manufacturers and importers/distributors are required to take back and recycle their products when a corporate customer requests collection.
In conjunction with the enactment of this law, NEC fortified its collection and 3R system for used products to promote the collection and recycling of used PCs. NEC does charge for collection and recycling.
In addition, we crush all used products collected, in these case memory devices such as HDDs, to prevent the possibility of leaking information.
