The NEC group participates in the Challenge 25% Campaign, a government-promoted activity to combat global warming.
The NEC Group is encouraging its employees to keep a household eco-account book as an opportunity to check their eco-consciousness at home and take action against global warming.
For this household eco-account book, we are using the "tepore" Web site operated by the Tokyo Electric Power Company to enable employees to access information such as the NEC Group's participation status and CO2 emissions from the employee-only NEC Group Web site.
NEC is continuing to promote its household eco-account books campaign launched in June.
A drawing was held from employees who participated in the June campaign in the November environmental month, and winners presented with "Love, Drink, Laugh & Invite" Japanese sake made with "NEC rice paddy project."

The NEC Group has responded as follows:
(1) Setting office air conditioning temperatures to 28°C
(2) Light duty garments in office, including conference rooms as general rule
*Light duty garment (open collar, no jackets) are shown in studies to reduce body temperatures 2°C (From Environment Ministry)
(3) Fully implementing current energy savings measures
NEC also put up a standing sign at the entrance reading "COOLBIZ IN FORCE" which also let out customers know about it. Employees were fully familiarized through in-house HP and general notices.
The NEC group encouraged employees to participate in the lights down campaign on June 21 (mid summer) and July 7 (cool earth day).
100 employees and their families participated.
The stores in NEC Group companies have conducted an "Ecology at the Cash Register" campaign for conserving environment and reducing plastic bags. This campaign also encourages employees' environmental awareness.
