NEC Video Delivery Platform, "NC7500-VD,"
Supported by NTT's NGN Business Services

***For immediate use November 6, 2008

Tokyo, November 6, 2008 - NEC Corporation announced today that its video delivery platform for telecommunication services, the "NC7500-VD," has secured connectivity to NTT's Next Generation Network (NGN), just months following its April 2008 release. This marks the first video delivery service that meets the unique NGN business service requirements for bandwidth assignment.

The new system not only supports advanced value-added functions that include HD (Note: 1), time shift and network PVR (Note: 2), it also assures content security with superior copyright protection and content access limitations. NEC regards the NC7500-VD as a cornerstone solution for NGN services establishing high quality video delivery. Furthermore, NEC is also launching services for ISP that are considering the provision of reliable, high quality video delivery services through NGN, as well as small scale models for businesses with internal needs.

Looking forward, as NGN expands throughout a wide range of diversified markets, NEC will continue with the sales and marketing activities that reach far beyond communications carriers and satisfy a broad horizon of demands.

For additional information about the NC75000VD, please visit the "C&C User Forum & iEXPO 2008," held from November 11 to 13, 2008 at the Tokyo International Forum.

(Note: 1) HD (High Definition) - High resolution (1080i, 720p) primarily used by televisions.

(Note: 2) network PVR (Personal Video Recorder) - A service where users may personally record and store content on a network server for viewing at any time.
