NEC Wins CTO Innovation Award at IBM Lotusphere for Visual Field Support Framework

Tokyo, March 11, 2010 - NEC Corporation (NEC), a leading provider of innovative IT, network and communications products and solutions, announced today that it received the prestigious Chief Technology Innovation Award at IBM Lotusphere 2010 for its "Visual Field Support Framework," an exclusive set of new field support services and mobile servers (terminals) powered by IBM Lotus Connections software.

The Visual Field Support Framework is a Software-as-a-Service that helps customers build communities through collaboration, Web 2.0 infrastructure and the latest technologies. The framework utilizes mobile servers to provide field information through video, voice and sensor data to remotely locate officed staff, who are also able to provide audio feedback to colleagues in the field.
