Installation of the Core Infrastructure System and
IP Based Telephone System in JAL Hotel's Hotel Nikko Wuxi

Tokyo, November 15, 2010 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today the installation of a core infrastructure system and IP based telephone system at Hotel Nikko Wuxi operated by JAL Hotel Co., Ltd.

The core infrastructure system is based on NEC's "NEHOPS," packaged software, including login system, guest management system, sales management system and exclusive charge account system for hotels. Furthermore, the core infrastructure system is linked with the hotel's IP based telephone system.

Linking "NEHOPS" to the IP based telephone system supports the hotel to provide superior service through guest telephone billing controls, guest voice-mail activation and guest name display for internal calls. In the future, displays will be provided in a wide range of languages, and a variety of information will be provided automatically in accordance with guest's past records and preferences.

Currently, "NEHOPS" is provided in three languages, Chinese, English and Japanese, which enables guests to login to the system then view displays and receipts in their preferred language. Furthermore, the system provides a variety of analysis functions, such as guest background and sales analysis, which facilitates management workflow of the hotel's frontend.

The system's specialized Chinese language features include print-out functions for foreign exchange and guest information, as well as ID card recognition.

NEC has provided hotel and IP based telephone systems as a total solution since the 1970s, and boasts a high market share in Japan for hotels' core infrastructure systems. Beginning in 2008, NEC has marketed the "NEHOPS" platform in China and is planning to expand this platform to cloud services in the future.

NEC has high market share in Japan with IP based phone systems as well, and has number of records worldwide including North America, Europe and Asia. NEC anticipates that its presence will continue to improve as the number of major hotel chains that recognize the company as a preferred vender grows, and new hotel openings expand throughout China.

These achievements will enable NEC to continue to providing hotels with superior IT network solutions.
