Tokyo, January 18, 2011 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today to market its award-winning C and SystemC synthesis VLSI design suite, "CyberWorkBench" (CWB), in North America. NEC is partnering with EDATechForce, LLC for local distribution.

CWB is a complete VLSI development suite comprised of a series of advanced LSI design tools using C or SystemC as input language that form an integrated design platform for ASICs, FPGAs and ASSPs. NEC group has been developing CWB for over 2 decades, and many Japanese companies have already benefited from this design suite, taping out ICs worth more than 10M USD.EDATechForce has a proven track record of providing valuable sales and technical support for leading-edge solutions for EDA companies. It is important for NEC to have highly competent and proactive representatives. Working with EDATechForce's dedicated sales and technical support teams allow us to reach this goal, and we are confident that this will accelerate our business in North America further," said Kazutoshi Wakabayashi, Senior Principal Researcher, Embedded Systems Solution Division, NEC.

"I'm very pleased that NEC has chosen EDATechForce to support the sales promotion of CyberWorkBench," said Carl DeSalvo, President and CEO of EDATechForce. I'm confident it will be well received in North America."

As for the first step, NEC and EDATechForce will showcase CWB at this year's DesignCon in Santa Clara, California, February 1-2 where they will demonstrate the latest release that includes full SoC system level design capabilities as well as a full range of complex designs fully synthesized in C.
